Five for Friday

http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/2015/06/five-for-friday-linky-party-june-12th.html

Finally!  I have time to link up with Five for Friday!

How about that new logo and banner?!?  LOVE* LOVE * LOVE The amazing Rebecca of Rebecca B Designs created them for me from this inspiration palette.

I'm still working on the blending the blog design to meet the awesomeness that is my new logo and banner.  It's a work in progress.

Part of my summer is spent happily cutting, stitching and pressing handmade chair pockets for my fellow educators.  The hum of the sewing machine is very Zen for me.  I've already finished a few orders and have several in the works.

Check them out at hermionejschwartz.etsy.com.

School's out for summer!  Can I get a wahoo!  This year was long.  Longer than usual with our extra hour.  Every. day.  Next year I will continue to be our school's literacy interventionist.  I am slated to have 80 students from K-5.  Exciting and overwhelming.  Definitely something that will be on my mind all summer.

This is how I left my new portable.

We just moved all the stuff in, tried to get what we could off the floor (for waxing) and called it even.  Next year the math interventionist and I will share a room.  I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm also throwing a sale this weekend on TpT to celebrate the end of the school year.

Thursday Pinspiration: Brownie Batter Dip & GoNoodle Brain Breaks

Alyssa of Just a Primary Girl hostesses another new, fun linky:
For our school Holiday Gathering, I made this fabulous Brownie Batter Dip.  I liken it more to Chocolate Cheesecake Dip, but still absolutely addicting!  I used the same dipper items in the picture, but if you read the comments on that blog post there are some good suggestions for additions/alternatives.

This would also be fantastic as a quick and easy pot luck dish for the summer.  No cooking, very little prep/clean up and it keeps in the fridge for a few days.  Make it.  You won't be sorry.

Do you GoNoodle?  If you don't, where have you been!?!  It is the best brain break, calm down, get moving website out there.  My students love, love, love Noodling.  Check out their blog for extra fun stuff the this end of the year activity for the kids.

First graders are cool because... Writing Prompt Freebie

Miss 27 Beginning or End of the Year Writing Prompt

Everyone know first graders are the coolest, but other grades may think they are pretty cool, too.  To show off their coolness, and opinion writing skills I created this quick, freebie writing prompt printable.  Each page starts with "{Whichever} graders are cool because..."

Kindergarten and first grade have two writing line styles.
K-2 are two on a page.
Third, fourth and fifth grades are full page.

I used these in conjunction with A Cupcake for the Teacher's Summer Kids craftivity (love her crafts).  Her download includes several writing pages, but none of them worked for the bulletin board I had in mind.  I want this to the suitable for both the end of this year and beginning of next year so I didn't want it to be summer specific.  It think the sunglasses make the kids look cool, and up coming students always think the next grade is the coolest, so I went with that.

They turned out so cute!  It will be the perfect June through September bulletin board.  Two and a half days to go...not that we're counting.
